Thanks Ross. I guess there was never really a question of whether I was going to leave, it never really crossed my mind. Though friends and family yelled at me to get out, I eventually compromised and changed my teaching location. There's no point in just giving up on a country after a week, there's more to see.

It's been sometime but I have returned with a better new me, camera is fixed, also added a macro lens to the collection.
all I need to do now is get away from Oregon this year and Ill be happy again.

I'd love to pitch you some stuff about the trip I'm taking this fall. I plan on volunteering for Quetzaltrekkers in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala for at least three months, probably longer. In that time I hope to get in some short trips to Chiapas and to the almost inaccessible villages in the northern highlands near the border.

I'll have to do some more research to come up with concrete ideas.
