Ever heard of Austronesian Migration. Lets just put it this way. Because of west to east voyaging and discovery beginning 8,000 years ago, every indigenous person bounded by Taiwan, Hawaii, Rapanui, Tahiti, Aotearoa, Papua New Guinea including the Philippines, Borneo, Indonesia, Malaysia and coastal people of Southeast Asia are related linguistically, culturally and through DNA sequencing. Whew!

This is a story not told. Matador has the collaborative power to tell it. Start here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8O77q8fjPIE

Hi Sarah

This thing is snowballing, so I'll be blogging, tweeting and god knows what else. I'll be trying my hand at writing for STATravel buzz for the duration of the trip. Do you have any tips on writing on the road? During my month in Europe in December i wrote a diary on the back of postcards, that seemed to suite me quite well. Which trans route are you taking? Nice to meet you

happy trails

Michael

Just been reading this article: http://thetravelersnotebook.com/notes-on-writing/dancing-with-chains-notes-on-iranian-translation/ on Travelers Notebook - which sort of sums up what I like about Matador sites. They're not straight travel sites, they're about the whole rich diversity that comes with travel and internationalism - meeting new people, learning about new cultures and experiences.
