Hi Anna, have you made and tasty quinoa dishes lately?
You wrote an article on how to travel the world by cargo ship and listed A la Carte Freighter Travel as a website to help you book them. However, this website does not have a phone number, then i looked at their privacy webpage and found that they only share their information with Maris Freighter Cruise and Travel website. Upon doing some research on the website; their address, for one is not legit. Googled their address and numerous other "companies" operate out of that address. Also, the fact that they never answer their phone during office hours.I think you should remove the website; it may be a scam.
So very cool - I have always wanted to do this.

About me
I love languages, walking around big cities and finding small cafes, not having a permanent home, and fitting my life into a suitcase. I grew up with a Swedish mother and an American father, encouraging my interest in culture and languages at an early age. I never travel without my sketchbook and I have an addiction to coffee, dark chocolate and fresh pineapple. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I talk non-stop about my love for Europe and am obsessive about all things Swedish.
After college I spent a school year working as an English teacher in Guadeloupe. That experience, coupled with having lived and studied in France, gives me a strong tie to the Francophone world and I often throw French words into the mix just for fun. I also believe in using correct French pronunciation with French words used in English -- like croissant and baguette. Some people find it pretentious; I like to think of it as cultured.
Lots of travel writing and adventuring on three continents eventually led to working as Managing Editor, New Media at Wend Magazine, based in Portland, OR. It was a sweet position where I got to interview many great travelers and tie together adventure and activism in my writing.
Recently I launched my own social media marketing firm, Under Solen Media. We believe that travel, adventuring and sustainability go hand in hand; if we don't protect the places that we love and cherish, how can we expect to keep returning to them?
Why I travel
It opens perspective
Travel style
With my backpack and a notebook covered in random global stamps, on the search of local food and drink. And yes, many Moleskines. Cliche but necessary.
Ideal place to watch the sunset
La Grande Anse de Deshaies, Guadeloupe
Ideal place to watch the sunrise
at Srah Srang in Angkor, Cambodia
I felt the most immersed in a foreign culture when
I stopped being able to say where home was.
Let's collaborate
Looking for other travel writers and those that want to tip me off to great global projects, and of course anyone in the green movement!
Sports I do
Yoga, Tennis
I want to make a difference by
Inspiring people to live environmentally conscious lifestyles -- we can't travel and explore on a dead planet, and if we don't start changing our daily habits and pushing for change, this is the exact direction we'll be headed. Many people work regular jobs and do this in their free-time, for me it's an around the clock kind of a thing, something that I do professionally and personally. The more people I can inspire to live consciously, the better.
Tunes I rock out to
Air, Buena Vista Social Club, Lisa Ekdahl, Erik Truffaz, Gotan Project, St. Germain, Daft Punk, Lars Winnerbäck, Royksopp, M83, Camille
Favorite books
Poisonwood Bible, the Life of Pi
