Hey my name is Brian Caruso. Me being a travel buff as well, I found this website that allows users to document our travels through online journals, digital mapping, and guidebooks. It is so cool to see where others have gone and what they have seen – it really sends that bug to get up and go right back into me. It’s called www.sosauce.com. If you get a chance check it out, and check my profile out. I am sure you won’t be disappointed. Stay well, be happy, and keep smiling. Thanks
Hey Andrea,
Thanks for stopping by and checking out the blog...buen camino!

About me
While I've stretched my legs into the world in the past most of my current adventures have been of the arm chair variety, reading and watching the travel narratives of others. However my new position as assistant editor at a technical trade magazine, is allowing me to attend trade shows in random locals around the U.S. and the world. These trips are short, and I look forward to when I can hit the road/air/sea for more than a week at a time.
In general: I love ice cream, the sound of snow crunching under my feet, reading a good book on a rainy day, and the clean happy feeling after a good workout. I also enjoy writing poetry and fiction, playing with artforms (like sketching and collage) and making vlogs.
Travel style
I typically like to travel with a buddy, but I'm just learning to enjoy solo travel as I experiment with it more.

In 8 days I will be shipping myself off for a two week stay in Germany (for both work and play).
My plan: I spent a lot of time deciding which city I wanted to hit and when, planning out train schedules and deciding how to make the best use of my time. I'm not a huge planner, but due to...

I just finished buying my tickets to go to Germany in September. So, yeah, it's official. ^_^
It's a work gig (the only reason I get to do any traveling, really), so I'll be attending a conference for three days. But after that I have a whole week to pretty much do what I want. I thought...

So, as I said in a previous post, my trip to Hawaii was most wonderful. I kayaked, snorkeled, watched the glow of the volcano at night, talked with local, ate fresh coconut, walked through Botanical Gardens, drove down empty desolate roads, swam into a sea cave, watched crabs crawl on the rocks...

Well, I'm happy to say that my previously noted solo travel fears were completely unfounded, and my trip to Hawaii went swimmingly.
I'm planning to post some photos and go into more details...

In less than 13 days I'm going to be in Hawaii. While there is excitement at this prospect, there is also a certain amount of fear, because this is (to my memory) the first time I've traveled solo, as in, it 100% up to me how I'm going to spend my days. I have always had someone who traveled...

My weekend was spent roaming Las Vegas, Nevada. Vegas was a fabulous treat for my 30th birthday and a new experience for me. Here's a basic list of what went down:
-- Total and immediate sensory overload. Slot machines, half naked go-go dancers, and an Elvis serving drinks. This was just...

When I dream of all the travel adventures I want to have, I tend to dream big. I ignore practicalities. I ignore the need for money, or food, or to feel safe and secure. I ignore the fact that I'm not the most athletic or the fact that what I want to do might not be physically possible.

The question of what our favorite place to travel was brought up over at Nerdfighters, and I thought I would share my response here. I of course have more than one. :)
There are lots of places I love. I can usually find a reason to love just...
