About me:

I have a rabid and insatiable wanderlust but am trapped doing my masters in Philadelphia right now. Fortunately, I can use my thesis as an excuse to go do research abroad. My next destination is Brazil.

My passport says I'm American but I have Korean roots. I'd like to consider myself a cultured citizen of the world. I dream of spending the next ten years of my life living in different countries for a period of six months to a year.

The last time I went abroad for a long period of time I specifically chose The Killers' "Hot Fuss" album as the official soundtrack for my journey.

Travel style:

I like to travel by myself but have friends already living in the country. I tend to make friends pretty quickly too so I'm not very rigid in terms of my travel style.

Admittedly I prefer the amenities and excitement of a metropolis, although it is nice to escape sometimes.

There are good times to be alone and good times to be with friends.

I want to make a difference by:

I believe people are inherently greedy and will always act in their best interest despite any possible negative consequences. This is not true of all people, but it is same to assume so.

That being said, it is my goal to find a way to make environmentally friendly practices both profitable and sustainable. I believe that, besides change coming from prudent policy above, we must find ways to put market forces behind sustainable practices.

I want to be part of that movement.

Chinese, Korean, some Spanish

I felt the most immersed in a foreign culture when:

I was in China for six months. I'm ethnically Korean, so being in Seoul wasn't too strange for me. China is a completely different world.

Simply commuting to work is an experience unlike any other.

Why I travel:

To make new friends and networks and gain perspective on my own life and the world.

To seek out opportunities and act upon them.

America is boring.

I'm a rising entrepreneur in the environmental field although I am highly interested in travel as well.

I'd love to network with other entrepreneurs to see what kinds of things you have been doing around the world. My dream is really to be able to run my company anywhere in the world. In this day and age, I don't think a company needs to be chained to a physical office.
