Trivop - the best thing since Lonely Planet?

By ameenehan  |  Location: United States  |  08/27/07  |  Pics: 0

Sometimes, the most stressful part of any vacation is finding a good
budget hotel. We've all been there before, you book a hotel online only
to get there and find out it looks nothing like what you were
expecting. You want to back out, but it's too late - all that's left to
do is cross your...

Flight to Placencia, Belize

By ameenehan  |  Location: United States  |  08/25/07  |  Pics: 3

After a long series of flights (layovers in Dulles and Miami), Dave and
I landed in Belize City with relief. Our plan was to grab a taxi into
town, and take public buses to Placencia - a long stretch of beach-y
peninsula on the southern coast of the country. Perhaps knowing that

film will bring international recognition to...

Malaria risk in Belize?

By ameenehan  |  Location: United States  |  08/13/07  |  Pics: 0

So we had a little mishap with our malaria meds. We got doxycycline perscribed because Dave had a bad experience with Malarone in Mozambique (i.e. he actually got malaria and blacked out for three days). We leave tonight, so we took our first pill yesterday....and noticed the small text on the side saying...

Going to Belize!

By ameenehan  |  Location: United States  |  08/10/07  |  Pics: 0

On Monday night, I leave for Belize. That's only 4 days away! I'm going with Dave, and it's coming at a time when we both really need some time off from work (or is that all the time?).

The plan right now is to hit Caye Caulker first, since it's close to Belize City and the airport. We have a...
