About me:
Just quit my corporate sales job after a 1.5 year tenure, and could not be more amped up. After my official resignation, I felt a quick jab to the stomach (my ego and it's materialistic, money-driven, "my job is better than yours" way of trying to check me), felt a little faint, looked around, and the quick jab was soon replaced by a Ken from StreetFighter flying fist pump/ howard dean fueled BIIIIIIYYYYAAAHHH! Finally! This ever-growing load was lifted off of my chest, a feeling of true freedom in making a very tough decision for the betterment of my future. Off to a mind-bending roadtrip at the end of August to Cali where I plan to...LIVE MY LIFE!

At the end of the day, I want to make a REAL difference, help others, use my education and wits to empower less fortunate, and embrace every facet of life around the world that will lead me to discovering myself and where to go next!

I like to freestyle, I cant play an instrument (yet) but I love to kick a rhyme and jive with anyone who wants to jam.

I've got one of the longest middle fingers you have ever seen, I try to refrain from flicken it out too much.

I'm too sarcastic for my own good and have run into some pretty awkward/confusing conversations because of it, my apologies.

I have the best friends and family I could ask for, and looking to expand that network with open-minded/driven/and opinionated people.

TJ - Thanks for the note!

D'oh! I'm so bad for not logging in for so long. Don't tell on me.

The place I volunteered is called Conviven. It's super easy to volunteer there though it's a bit of a bus trip to get there. The kids are great. and I wish I didn't have to work so hard to make money so I could get there again. I had been volunteering 3x a week, and I miss it.

I can give you a facebook URL to contact the director more easily if you use FB. Let me know.

Good luck - we'll have to take you out to a parilla when you get here! Keep in touch.

Oh! If you want to make sure I see future notes, you can just PM me - that way it lands in my inbox and I know to log in. I will try to be better about that!

Hey man...good for you for getting the hell out of dodge! How many people stick in jobs they hate because of fear. It takes a lot of guts.

Hope you're gonna blog about your travels...

Cheers,
Carlo

Hey TJ,

World Cup...check.
Argentina...check.

My wife and I are currently in Bolivia but will be down Patagonia way July-Nov., thereabouts. Shoot me your itinerary if you'll be in the area.

Best of luck!

(This really set off a tick in me, and seeing as it relates to "employment", and a contrast to my themed site, I thought this post could find a comfortable place to nestle in the blog in case there are a few lost souls actually trying to find a job...please don't take this approach...)

Unemployment...

Maintaining your own path, creating your own legend and deviating from the norm can be hell-a tough sometimes, no matter how confident you are. When our ego starts whispering into our ears and we begin to compare our motives against the "social norms" of today, take a step back, look up, smile, and remember...

Stumbling through the reaperbahn in Hamburg, Germany, oozing Currywurst in one hand and some rando Pilsner a pretty little thing bought for me in the other, I found myself free-styling with a non-english speaking German on the corner of BurgerKing and "Beatlemania".  Side note: ...
