Durban, South Africa, actually all of Africa, Southwest England, Poland, Rural France, Rural anywhere actually!, Muskoka (a lovely area north of Toronto, Canada), anywhere that edible mushrooms grow, anyplace where people are nice, Northern Quebec, Ireland, San Francisco, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Rawdon, a small town north of Montreal, Québec, so many places. Places with a plethora of history and did I mention edible mushrooms?

Places I want to go to:

Far East, especially Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. Australia, India, back to Africa(Serengeti, Kilimanjaro, etc), ride the Trans-Siberian Express in winter,

I'm fired up on:

Cooking for friends and the intimacy that a dinner and great conversation results in. Sharing a passion for music of all types except most top 40. Art is the raison d'etre of my life. Ceramic, printmaking, jewelry, photography, combining it all in a multi-disciplinary object.

Tunes I rock out to:

SO MANY! Arabic music, both traditional and new; South American, experimental. Amr Diab and Om Khalsoum, Leonard Cohen, Steely Dan (the baseline in PEG makes me see God), so does John Coltrane, early Miles Davis, Dexter Gordon, (the cool Jazz period), be-bop, Rockabilly, Classical Indian Music, Baroque and early music... so much. If it's done from the heart, I will love it.

Travel style:

Don't care, just want to go. As long as I have a camera and my iPod with radio....

Making sure electric cars become de rigeur. In the future, bringing power, communications and clean water to communities in Africa.

I felt the most immersed in a foreign culture when:

Spending time with the people in the area in places where tourists won't be at. Maybe waking up and feeling at home, speaking the lingua of the land.

Anyplace unpolluted.... and me alive....

Before I die I'd like to:

Climb Mount Kilimanjaro, have a number of solo exhibitions of my work, visit the places I grew up in, hold my grandchildren and watch them grow up... so many things. Travel the world, get to know people, help when and where I can.
