About me:

Hmmm... where to start?
Well, I'm a State Department brat, so I grew up overseas, and hence were the seeds sown for a life as a restless wanderer: I am never content being idle and staying too long in one place. However, these days I find myself biting the bullet more and more often as time and money both become things in short supply - something I hope to remedy soon.
The world is such an amazing place and I can't imagine one lifetime being enough to explore it all as I would like to. So for now, I'll keep plugging away when I can, and hopefully, I'll grow old on the road.
I've been home for just over a year now, having returned from a year-long solo trip in NZ/Australia & South East-Asia, and am gearing up for the next big trip!
If I could find a way to make my living while traveling, well then I would be in hog heaven :)
I'm a PADI Divemaster and an RYA competent crewman... so put me on a boat with a few tanks of air and we're in business!

I felt the most immersed in a foreign culture when:

Singing Vietnamese Karaoke with all the guys who worked with me in my dive shop in Vietnam... I didn't understand a word of what I was singing, but there's no better way to ingratiate yourself with your hosts than by being willing to laugh at yourself and not being afraid to look silly. Oh, and the beer helps too :)

Why I travel:

You might as well ask why I breathe.

IN the shadow of Everest from the summit of Kala Patar.

Halong Bay, Vietnam.
