Hi Angela,
Some good places to check out for the nightlife are Calle Alfalfa, which is a big spot on a little street that all of the locals go to. If you want to mix it up with more internationals, head to Calle Betis. There are some cheap bars there like Big Ben and Fundicion. Another places locals hang out is near Plaza Almeda.

For great, cheap tapas head to Antigua near Plaza Nueva. Basically, the entire city is full of life and energy, so you will definitely find a good time. Have fun there.

If you want to keep track of how I'm doing in Ecuador, check out my blog, the link is in my profile. I won't be able to update it much for a while as I'm heading down there tomorrow and won't have internet for a while. Take care.

Hi, Angela-
Thanks for your message. Mexico's a fascinating, complicated place-- it provokes a similar feeling in many people! I look forward to reading more of your writing.

Peace,
Julie

It seems like every nationality has their own holiday stereotype.   Germans get up at ungodly hours to put their towels on the best sunbed locations to reserve their spot; the Japanese snap photographs of anything and everything; the Americans talk loudly and can´t understand why the US...

Summer usually arrives overnight on the Spanish Costas.   One week the beaches will be dotted with local residents enjoying the warmer weather, and then suddenly, one weekend, you will find hundreds of tourists crammed together under a sea of umbrellas and sun shades. ...
