I felt the most immersed in a foreign culture when:

One night in Senegal, we were invited to share tea with a family in the evening and we sat outside under the stars for hours talking about what makes our cultures similar and different; I think at least 4 different languages were being spoken at one point.

Why I travel:

Before I die I'd like to:

Set foot in all seven continents.
Hike all the 14ers in Colorado.
Meet Greg Mortenson.
Take every worthwhile opportunity that comes my way.
Live unconventionally.
Travel unconventionally.
Get a fellowship to travel/Peace Corps something along those lines.
Hold a koala.
Pet a penguin (do you pet penguins? I don't know. Play with them?).
Sail across an ocean.
Get paid for my photography.

So I'm giving up Facebook for lent (ambitious, I know) with the intent of getting more work done so I can get better grades which will ideally lead to better opportunities in the future... theoretically. However, I'm slightly concerned that Matador will only serve to become my new Facebook... meaning...
