Places I want to go to:

Malaysia (September), India - December for honeymoon. Dream trips, Festival in the Desert in Mali, Cairo to Capetown overland, Madagascar, Nepal, Vietnam, Chile. That should keep me busy for a while!

About me:

We're all unique aren't we? Hmmm, well I can make conversation with just about anyone, feel comfortable in just about any environment and I have a knack for getting dinner invites everywhere I go. Seriously though, Canadian, lived in Europe now for 7 years and in the process of relocating to Oz to be with my Dave and our 3 geriatric underachieving housecats. Worked for the UN, worked for NGOs in Africa which lead me to leave the corporate urban lifestyle and embrace a freer and ultimately happier lifestyle. Traveled in 43 countries and worked in 17 so I'm pretty versatile.

adventure, nature and meeting people, exploring alternative ways of living and not buying into the 'must do, must have' culture which alienates us from each other.

Depends. Two years ago in East and Central Africa it was all about Michael Franti and Spearhead. In Indonesia I couldn't get enough of the Foo Fighters.

Travel style:

Used to travel alone backpacking now I travel with my Dave. My style is open minded, carrying only what I need in a carry on backpack and making friends with the locals.

Educating and traveling sustainable, respecting cultures - showing that we are more alike than different and bringing my tales of wonderful people back to those not as fortunate as myself who can not travel.

I felt the most immersed in a foreign culture when:

The only foreigner on on a local bus of 400 meant to hold 100 winding through mountains roads and villages along Lake Kivu Rwanda listening to the women with babies on their backs sing so beautifully that it made the hair on your neck stand up.

Why I travel:

traveling restores my faith in humanity. People are good and we have a lot to teach one another. Travel is the ultimate education.

Ideal place to watch the sunrise:

over Angkor Wat, Siem Reap, Cambodia

Ideal place to watch the sunset:

Either Wadi Rum, Jordan or any beach

Before I die I'd like to:

swim with whale sharks, see the polar bears, learn another language, know how to make a decent curry, sail the Indian Ocean, become a dive master, travel overland in Africa, get a dog...feel that I did the best I could...
