About me:

Having tired of the daily grind and reached a certain level of "success" as defined by the North American culture at a young age, a little voice in the back of my head that has been a lifelong friend became very loud; Having said the same thing all my life, I could no longer ignore it when my health came into the fray. It told me to get out there, explore the world, and live the retirement dream now - not in 30 years.
Hence, I sold all my belongings and adopted the life of a Professional Hobo and Freelance Writer!

I'm fired up on:

Adrenaline. Formerly a competitive skydiver (now there's a game you don't want to lose at!), motorcycle racer, and having bungee jumped all over the world, I am in search of adventures and great stories.
I am an avid mountaineer, rock climber, caver, hiker, and enjoy white water rafting, writing, making music, and generally exploring.
I am searching the world for adventure and inspirational stories.

Travel style:

Travel for me is a lifestyle and not just a vacation or trip. It can last a lifetime, or two weeks. And returning "home" doesn't have to mean the end of the trip; are you open to new ideas and learning new things? Then travel away, my friend.

Sports I do:

mountaineering, hiking, rock climbing, rapelling, caving, bungee jumping, skydiving, motorcycle riding, dancing (if you can call it a sport), swimming...the list goes on.

Who I'd like to meet on my travels:

Matt Harding (maybe I can have a dance with him), Michael Palin (for his wonderful travel attitude and quirky style), The Dalai Lama (how cliche), and generally cool, open-minded adventurers like myself who I can learn from.

I want to make a difference by:

Inspiring people to take control of their lives and live out their passions and dreams. To say "tomorrow I'll get to it" is a death sentence.
But people also need to add a dose of "reality" to their lives: plan for tomorrow. Nobody else will do it for you. But just don't do it at the expense of living for today.
There is indeed a balance in life: everything in moderation.

Languages spoken, other than English:

Spanish (learning), French (sort of)!

Why I travel:

I travel to fulfill a lifelong dream, passion, and calling. I make a living (if you can call it that!) with writing, and an internet connection no matter where I go.

Before I die I'd like to:

I'm doing it!
And I ask myself every day: if this were my last day, what would I have changed or done differently? If I can answer that question, then I must get out there and do it!

I am a Professional Hobo and Freelance Writer/Videocast Producer & Host.
I am always looking for a new place in the world to hang my hat for a time and allow me to explore and learn and immerse myself in culture, society, and new friends.
I am also looking for paid writing opportunities (on the subjects of travel and personal finance).

Hey i appreciate your post... permanently avoiding winter eh? we all get a little sick of it sometimes and wish for the sunshine but it's got it's advantages.. like making the sun all that much better when it returns haha! Can't say I'm not jealous of your living situation though, I love the Big Island!
