OK, so here's the deal. If you take the Inca Trail (3 day trek) to MP, you need a guide--they won't let you on the trail without one. To us, that sounded like a clusterfuck, so we went with Juan to Cerro de los Ojos, and then came back to Cusco and took the train to Aguas Calientes, instead of arriving via the Inca Trail. There are two trains--you take one after another. It's easy. Then once you get there, sleep one night in AC and get up early to be the first people on the first bus up to MP before it gets packed. Don't forget to look again at my email about the hike on the other side of the ravine from MP ...highly recommended.

Hollar with any other preguntas :)
