sorry it has taken so long to get back to you. but i must, must talk michigan. i love michigan. i love holding my hands up as a map and pointing towards my left middle finger. i love the u.p. it is like narnia up there. and, it's true, sometimes i don't know if it's really the place so much as my friends and family who live up there, that make me love it so much. but it IS a different world. nature is respected and cared for. people are friendly and wave and don't lock their doors and sometimes wear plaid. i jumped from ridiculous heights into the clearest blue water i've ever seen. and, i don't know, but in my mind i've associated michigan with a kind of magic and adventure, an aliveness. i just love it.

thanks for the comment on why i travel. it's funny, but i actually commented on your page, because i like yours. it reminded of that part in 'beauty and the beast' when belle is in the field. when she says, "i want adventure in the great wide somewhere; i want it more than i can tell."
