Favorite places I've been:

As far as cities go my favorites are London, Istanbul and Capetown. The most exciting was a three months trip crossing the sahara from Alger to Abidjan/Ivory coast.

Places I want to go to:

Gran Canyon, New England, Petra in Jordan and Cappadocia in Turkey.

I'm an international attorney turned free lance writer. I've lived and worked in the UK, Spain and Germany and now live between Turkey and Miami with many stops in between. I'm currently writing on blogit, associated content, suite101 and brighthub. Fortunately I speak several languages which helps plenty when travelling the world.

I'm fired up on:

Historic sights, adventure travel, exotic museums, native art and histrory, in fact anything out of the ordinary that takes my fancy and that I would love to share with kindred spirits.

Tunes I rock out to:

Given my age, you'll forgive me that the 'rocking' is limited to my absolute favorite: Freddy Mercury!! Followed by Phil Collins and Led Zeppelin. Not too bad taste, I hope.

Travel style:

I'm curious, always poke my nose round the next corner, and don't like schedules. It's not backpacking anymore, but I like to travel on my own and change my itinerary as the fancy takes me.

Writing about special trips, openeing people's eyes to other cultures, break down preconceptions.

German, Spanish, French, Turkish (sort of)

I felt the most immersed in a foreign culture when:

we happened upon Touaregs in the Sahara desert and were invited to spend two days with them in their tents. I've never experienced such hospitality anywhere else.

Why I travel:

I'm a born gypsy and nomad. It's in my blood, I can't help it. When the urge calls, I pack and go. That's why I am so happy not to be office bound anymore although my job took me around the world as well.

From my terrace in Miami overlooking Biscayne bay to the right and the Miami River down below.

see above, looking in the opposite direction

Before I die I'd like to:

Travel, travel, travel and write, write, write!!
