Brittany, etc? Can't help you there...I only headed south from Paris (and that was only in October - but January? Brrr!). Have to say it would be awesome to stand on the famous beach at Normandy, any time of year. Enjoy your trip - you're on quite an epic journey!

I'll see if i can compete with the longest comment in matador history..

I am in total accordance with the qualities exhibited by Hubba Bubba and the Irish Coast.. Did you get down to the Ring of Kerry. I was there 11 years ago and it is still right up there with the coolest scenery i've seen. (still behind Patagonia and New Zealand).

On that topic.. recommendations for New Zealand. Focus on the South Island. (if you have time definitely poke around the north island, but I think the south island has the cooler stuff (mountains, lakes, glaciers, fjords, etc). (although, i actually never went to the North Island) Plus Queenstown is the adventure capital of the world, so you can go there to jump off bridges, planes, raft, luge, etc. good times. Definitely road trip it if
you can. rent a car or van with some people.

Other things that are cool:
Abel Tasman national park in the north part of the south island

Fox Glacier. There is another glacier too, but i forget the name.

I recommend eating a lot of lamb and steak.

Okay. So. After having safely arrived back in Western culture, I've spent my first five days in Australia trapped inside typing my stupid blog. It took forever and now that all is said and done, has come in at just under 60,000 words. That's about 125 single spaced pages. It's not just ridiculous,...
