I felt the most immersed in a foreign culture when:

When I was alone in spanish-speaking Copan, Honduras and had to get my laundry done and avoid being fleeced by the taxi guy who drove me to a yoga platform on north edge of town. I think I was fleeced anyway.

Why I travel:

To see beautiful people, landscapes and wild animals.

Ideal place to watch the sunrise:

On a rocky crag surrounded by parrots, peregrines, and howler monkeys

From a hammock on a grassy knoll overlooking the Pacific
