About me:

I am a biomedical engineer who has chosen the nomadic life over wasting away in a cubicle crunching numbers. I now lead cycling tours for a living. I will never stop travelling but would love to have a place of my own to come back to someday. I love to paint when I have a place to spread out. Running is my release. I speak French, Spanish, and am learning Italian. Most importantly, I make a mean chocolate chip cookie!

I'm fired up on:

Baile latino!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to dance. I am forever a mountain girl at heart...mountains are just so damn big! Skiing is in my blood. I absolutely love to sing; the bigger the crowd the better.

Tunes I rock out to:

Honestly, some of the best music lyrically and melodically came out of the seventies. Van Morrison, Led Zepplin, etc. I love some of the newer British and Irish rock. And I am a sucker for the occassional 80's power ballad. Anything that makes me want to dance (and that doesn't take a lot).

Travel style:

I don't do the hostelling thing anymore...the only people I meet are other travellers. While that can be cool, I like to get to know the people who live where I am travelling. I prefer living with families, staying with friends of friends, etc. I used to hop from one place to the other but now prefer to get to know a place intimately.

I felt the most immersed in a foreign culture when:

I stayed with a friend of a friend in Verona, Italy...I must say the Italians truly have that thing called "life" figured out.

Why I travel:

To stretch my comfort zone and to learn.

Ideal place to watch the sunrise:

Of all the beautiful places I've been, some of the most incredible sunrises have been on the Sacramento River while rowing with my crew teammates...so peaceful and beautiful. The Carribean isn't bad either;-)

Ideal place to watch the sunset:

Desert sunsets are hard to beat.

Before I die I'd like to:

Be able to sit back and say honestly, "I don't want anything more."
