About me:

I'm an activist, educator, and traveler. I'm a visual artist, writer, and poet. I spent 6 months traveling in Latin America by myself and it was the most intense, challenging, and interesting experience of my life. I got married recently and just returned to LA from my honeymoon in Mexico City.

I'm fired up on:

universal access to healthcare, especially for transgender and gender non-conforming people. education reform, especially in regards to standardized testing and the lack of sex education in schools. Registering people to vote, especially youth, people of color, and transgender people.

I like to pack really light and not have stuff to worry about, take local transportation everywhere, talk to as many local people as possible, and try to blend in and experience things authentically without packaged tours or too much sight-seeing. And I love art museums too!

no one knows I am a traveler because I'm hanging out with all local people and going to social events with them.

I have an intense curiousity about the world, a skepticism about the portrayals of people I see in the media, and a yearning for adventure.

in the Amazonian rainforest with air so clear you can see for miles in every direction.

from a Mayan ruin in the jungles of Guatemala
