Favorite places I've been:

Lamu - a small island off of Kenya's Swahili coast; Rusinga Island - a small island from which you can watch the lanterns of the fishing boats shimmer on Lake Victoria; Barcelona - not much beats skinny dipping in the Mediterranean at 1 o'clock in the morning; Zanzibar - the fresh seafood, the water, the relaxed culture, I could go on for days; Napa & Sonoma Valley - California's wine country is a verdant wonderland of good food, wine, and people.

Places I want to go to:

No matter how long this list could be, it wouldn't be long enough. Any list of place names would preclude others, and there is no place I can imagine NOT wanting to go.

I'm living with a family and participating in every aspect of running the household. Especially when I'm slaughtering a goat for my Kenyan sister's fifth birthday.

I just got the message you left on my comment thread. We served 2004-2005 right outside of Thika as well in a village called Ki-humbuini. Were you a business volunteer? I wonder if you may have taken over the spot that Luke left behind?
