About me:

Well,I think I've managed to stay well below the surface of things throughout life. Depth is meaningful. Strangers are interesting (unless they're superficial) Popular thought doesn't really interest me. The meaning of life does but that's a question that I don't think I'll ever know the answer to, though I'm always searching. Always searching for more meaning. I love people and culture and learning, I like to wake up every day with a clear palette and let life paint it's pictures for me.

I'm fired up on:

Photos, music, friendships, cooking, good sex, hiding with a good book, bocce ball, cycling, wildlife anything and everything, writing-only when inspired by intense emotion or creativity, which is often- making new friends, keeping in touch with old friends, a good discussion or as some might say a great debate, supporting environmental issues, volunteering my time to help people and animals, taking the time to explore and discover new places, not just blowing through like 'those people' who have visited 45 countries in one year and think that's a good thing-hey, leave something for the retirement days, would ya?

Travel style:

I used to love to travel solo, put myself out there in the fullest sense, now I travel with my man, since I do wear The Ring and all. I married him so that was part of the deal! We travel really well together and in so many ways it deepens all emotions toward each other. He's a sweetheart with an open mind and a huge heart. Sometimes he's a real pain in the ass but I'm sure he'd say the same about me. He's a Phd-come-home-designer and builder who is full of wisdom, compassion, awareness and love. Couldn't ask for a better travel mate.
So far pretty consistent in backpacking and traveling on a dime but not apposed to a little luxury once in awhile or something in between. Basically I'm open to everything but I'm fairly keen on getting the most bang for my buck and don't mind roughing it anywhere.

Who I'd like to meet on my travels:

anyone who will make an impression on me, teach me something new, challenge me to be a better person, enlighten me somehow.

I want to make a difference by:

giving back to communities through volunteer programs, writing on important topics, making people aware of what's really happening in the world and how we can all come together to help each other. There is no one way to 'heal' the world yet with a true global effort covering change in many social, economical, political and environmental facets, we just might make a good go of it.

Hungarian, Croatian, some Spanish

I felt the most immersed in a foreign culture when:

At our (Buddhist) wedding in s. Thailand. The connection to our beautiful Sangha was incredible.

Why I travel:

To rip open my mind and expose it to everything, to clear a tired palette, to gain new perspective, to learn, to love, to always grow. To grow all ways.

Before I die I'd like to:

learn more,love more,travel more, have children and travel with them, change someone's life, make a memorable difference, learn to play the mando better,figure out why some people try so hard, publish a few books-or at least one-make amends with certain people,

I'm a not-so-often practicing(right now)photographer who writes travel-based web content full time. I've published a few pieces for print and am currently working on a book. If anything I'd mostly like to write more on a wider scope and also get the darkroom back in action.

thailand was amazing, again. like you said, the place always appears before you with open arms.

i am sorry to say, my name does not have anything to do with the band by the same name. it was something a friend called me in college. a mix between my last name, fisher, and christopher, which is just a name to me.
