I'm fired up on:

Great new bands, or great old bands, delicious red wine, gardening, painting, writing, sleeping in, warm sunny days on the edge of the North Atlantic ocean, seeing NL on the back of a Harley.

Tunes I rock out to:

Right now, I can't get enough of M.Ward (dear God he is fabulous), Bon Iver (also fabulous), Band of Horses, The National, Belle and Sebastian, Billy Bragg, Bloc Party, Pete Doherty (total mess), and Mos Def.

Travel style:

With friends, old and new. I'm not big on bugs so I like beds without them. Other than that, in theory, I like to travel light - only the essentials - bikini, ipod, flip flops, camera, journal. However, I always manage to pack way too many pairs of shoes. It's an affliction of the female variety.

I take time to get to know people. Find common ground. We all have common ground.

Why I travel:

Because this world is far too wonderful not to experience as much of it as you possibly can cram into a lifetime. So far, I've done a shit job of making it a priority. But I'm changing that.

Ideal place to watch the sunrise:

Cape Spear NL (first sunrise in North America)

Ideal place to watch the sunset:

Rocky Harbour, glorious Gros Morne National Park on the west coast of NL. With loved one in hand of course.

Before I die I'd like to:

Paint in Santorini, surf in Costa Rica, write in the Caribbean, teach in Chile, make ads in Amsterdam.

I'm a copywriter and I write predominately for a tourism client - travel guides, print, television, radio ads. I'd like to learn more about becoming an actual travel writer... one who travels whilst writing. So, I'm here to learn, and hopefully, to write.
