About me: Global Vision International (GVI), formed in 1998, is an ethical volunteering organisation working in partnership with over 150 critical conservation and humanitarian projects worldwide.
We offer projects that make a GENUINE in-country difference. We only work on long-term sustainable projects, set up in conjunction with local organisations. We also think it's important that all benefits of the project remain in-country. We promote sustainable development through environment research, conservation and education.
In addition GVI runs 5 and 10 week expeditions. These involve intensive training and communal living amongst an expedition team. Volunteers live in some of the most dramatic and remote locations on earth, and gain practical, often biologically-based, field work experience.
At present GVI offers 10 expeditions worldwide including:
Marine research in Mexico or the Seychelles
Wildlife conservation in the Amazonian or Cost Rican rainforests
Predator research, animal tracking and marine mammal studies in Kenya or South Africa
