Glenn, thank you for the NDK info. I'll look into them. I believe that the view of the world from a boat is my favorite. Lived on a 29' sailboat in Portland, OR for ten years, cruised extensively in Baja; came down from Ketchikan in a 26' tug; was chef (what I do) on a 52' sailboat in the San Juans and into Victoria, Canada . . .

I wish you the best with your expedition/Life/year . . . envious stuff . . . dream stuff . . . glad you're out there making a reality out of it

Peace
Scott

E. P. I. C. Nice way to spend some time, Glenn. I've done some kayaking myself - Sea of Cortez, West Coast of Vancouver Island, San Juans, SE Alaska (there's a photo on my page from that trip). Curious?, I'm considering another loooooooong sea kayak trip, perhaps a year, long stretches between restocking supplies, what is your best bet for a high-volume boat? My own boats were a Necky (Tesla) which I loved, and then a take-apart (brand escapes me now).

Any suggestions would be appreciated . . . in the meantime, paddle-on!

Thanks for the post. Until I figure out how to add new content to Matador (which I will do), you can read more about my adventures and see pictures on my adventure blog, www.gteadventureblog.com

Thanks for posting here!

Beginning in 5 days, the One Ocean Project will begin it's odyssey up the North American Atlantic Seaboard, from Key West Fl to Quebec City, Canada.  The 3700 mile solo paddle along the Atlantic Ocean will be an amazing opportunity to document the wilds of our Ocean waters and pristine shoreline. ...

The holidays have come and gone, and I am now 3 weeks away from continuing on my new life journey.  The journey started over a year ago when I decided to uproot my life, sell everything, and travel the waters of North America in a simple orange kayak and little yellow dome tent.  The first...
