I'm a software engineer living in Los Angeles. I started traveling in 2006 on a 10-day breeze through London, Paris and Amsterdam. I've been hooked since.

I'm fired up on:

Karaoke. Searching for the perfect taco in LA. The UCLA Bruins. Reading anything and everything. Traveling (obviously)

Tunes I rock out to:

Coldplay. Oasis. Radiohead. Anything that moves the soul.

Travel style:

Open-ended, eating as much local cuisine as possible, doing anything that's scary and awkward, as long as it doesn't kill me. I like traveling in smaller numbers. No big tour groups for me, please. I don't mind traveling alone, but it depends on the destination.

Who I'd like to meet on my travels:

Locals. Fellow intrepid travelers.

I want to make a difference by:

Showing through my writings that the world is not as scary as we think. That traveling and immersing yourself in other cultures is a spiritual activity and is more than just seeing sights and eating food.

Languages spoken, other than English:

Some Spanish, a little Tagalog, and a few phrases whereever else I am

I felt the most immersed in a foreign culture when:

Walking through the local market at the crack of dawn.
