There isin't a place I've been to that I didn't like. Russia, Poland, Rumania, Bulgaria, Greece, England, France, Italy, SPAIN & PORTUGAL, Croatia, Most of South America, Mexico, CUBA, Dominican Republic, Canada, and in the US. all over, favorites being San Diego & San Francisco California, Miami Florida, Manhatten New York, New Orleans Louisiana.

Places I want to go to:

Hawaii (planned for Oct. 2009), MALTA, SENEGAL, LEBANON, All of North Africa especially Egypt, South Africa, Namibia, Australia, Japan, Indonesia and Thailand, Dubai, Israel, Cannes, Capri, Tahiti....

About me:

I belong everywhere and nowhere. I am a citizen of the world. I love languages and respect all peoples and I've been that way my whole life. My favorite song as a child, which still rings true is "It's a small world afterall."

I'm fired up on:

International Male Soccer, Dancing Salsa with friends, family and Cuban husband, all theatre (used to be a professional ballet dancer) and TRAVELING!! Travel is my passion.

Tunes I rock out to:

I do not own an i-pod, and I haven't listened to a walkman since the year 2000. I just don't have time, not even when I travel, and less so with a toddler. I'm too busy taking it all in while traveling. However, I love SIRIUS satellite radio (in my car). I like all kinds of music, depends on my mood, anything from samba to classical, Broadway to Sinatra, and most Latin music.

Travel style:

I used to travel by myself everywhere, but now I usually go with my husband and son, who also love to explore. We are open minded, not uptight at all. We'll stay in a hotel, a hostal, or on a floor or a sofa, doesn't matter. We're just open to the unique experience. I've learned to pack lighter, but we are a family with a toddler.

I want to make a difference by:

I already make a difference as a legal and medical interpreter. I guess I would want to participate in a charity as an interpreter for an organization such as the Red Cross, or Medecins Sans Frontier, or as a teacher abroad.

Languages spoken, other than English:

Spanish and French

I felt the most immersed in a foreign culture when:

I spent 6 months living with a family out of high school, went on tour with my ballet company and lived with families in Spain, Poland and Russia, and when I went with my husband for a month to Cuba. Also, in Greece for 3 weeks with an ex boyfriend, who was from Greece. I never felt like a tourist in these contexts, I lived like one of them.

Why I travel:

It helps me keep things in perspective, and it has taught me what no book has ever been able to do. It takes me out of my comfort zone, but paradoxically shows me, how similar all human beings are the world over. I need to experience foreign culture like i need the air I breathe.

Ideal place to watch the sunrise:

On the island of Santorini at particular point of altitude on the island; on a beach or the malecon in Havana, and many more places to discover...

Ideal place to watch the sunset:

Any beach where buildings aren't blocking my view

Before I die I'd like to:

Travel the world over and make sure my son experiences it all as well, in an effort to shape his world view and an open mind, before he reaches full adulthood. I am writing this in 2008 and he's only 4 yrs. old.
