I'm fired up on:

Canon L-series camera lenses, Tim Sandlin books, trying to get to 100 on my list of different wine varietals, baby yoga class, excellent draft beer, sushi date night on the North Shore with my husband, trying to be green and save money, and the New England Patriots.

A little country, a little rock and roll, and a lot of gleefully awful pop music.

Travel light, stay cheap, blow the budget on good food and great wine and beer.

Overall, my travel luck has been pretty good. I've never been scammed or assaulted, and the recent theft of a camera out of a gate-checked bag has been the only travel-related crime I've encountered. Oh, I've been inconvenienced, certainly, but I've never experienced a serious threat to my person...
