When people ask "where do you live?" ...I say, "In the present as much as possible."
At age 19, I left home and started exploring North America by sea kayak, and kept a journal (
http://www.solomax.com). After months of living on the beach with travelers in Mazatlan, Mexico, and then living in Austin Texas, I continued my journey by kayak on the ocean, paddling southward to Roblito, a village of 250 people who live simply, close to nature in community. I was SoloMAX... who was all about going solo to get the MAX out of life. The experience in Roblito opened my eyes to the collective power of community and the graceful nature of simplicity.
Over the past five years, I've taught personal development through art therapy workshops and slide shows, and experienced visiting communities across the western United States, including Rainbow Gatherings and Burning Man.
When Hurricane Katrina hit, I constructed a 60ft geodesic dome in the Gulf Coast to create a community center with a Rainbow Family kitchen, which lasted nine months. Making Love in a Disaster Zone -- the Story of Made with Love Cafe is a 30 minute film I made about it:

In central Mexico, I am developing eco-tourism projects(

http://www.actionheronetwork.net), which is organizing a grassroots movement in Central Mexico to create a cultural exchange community center near Roblito, Nayarit (

Currently, I am enjoying the summer at home in Saint John doing art projects with kids in all the playgrounds around the city and making hammocks to support Stitch Uganda Together, a project to create sewing rooms for Ugandans in the fall(see our group:
