Favorite places I've been: New Zealand 1980 first trip overseas amazing
San Francisco - culture, European, looks like Sydney feels like Melbourne
NYC - big, brash and beautiful
Paris - je t'aime beaucoup
Firenze - the smell of leather and history
Rome - even though every time I've been there chaos has reigned but you gotta love it!
London & the UK - like a second home after living there many times, family there as well
North east coast of Tasmania - turquoise water and white sand, say no more
Thailand - both times had amazing experiences, makes me very fond of the place
Places I want to go to: Egypt/Israel - people, culture, language, food and history
Caribbean - Anguilla, BVI, St Martin, Turks & Caicos, Grenada (family from there) and Bahamas which aren't actually the Caribbean but who cares, close enough
Back to Paris (and France) always, live there 6 months of the year
Italy - everywhere esp Sicily & Sardinia
The Stans - all those Turkic people in the most amazing place
Iceland - design, women who all have the name 'dottir' at the end of their surname, amazing place
Denmark - loving The Eagle & Unit One (Danish TV crime series') has got me hungry for Denmark, feel like I can speak the language
Spend 3 months driving around the UK, wandering through the green lanes and stopping in beautiful places with no set itinerary. Would love to do this through France and Italy as well
About me: A passionate gal who loves life and learning about it through people, places, experiences, tastes, sights & sounds. I've just realised the most important thing in the world is people/animals in the sense that when I'm leaving this planet the times and experiences I've had with those wonderful souls I've known in my life are what I'm taking with me. As much as I love my stuff, that is transitory, important yet doesn't leave a lasting impression. I imagined once how travelling to a country/place would be different if not another soul was there, say I had Paris all to myself, not one soul there, me able to see everything without crowds, busy-ness and that hit me that travel to me is ultimately about the personal experiences, the memories and they have to include people even the crazies and rude ones. Otherwise the pallette is dull and lifeless and one dimensional. Thank you for those who are inspired to come and say hi to me!
