A little about me:
I was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, by a Brazilian mother and American father. At the age of 18 I moved to California where I started my undergraduate studies.
Growing up in Brazil was a priviledge, giving me the opportunity to understand other cultures from a different perspective as I moved to the USA.
I return to Brazil almost every year and travel throughout the country as much as i can.
So far, I have been to the folowing states:
-Sao Paulo
-Rio de Janeiro
-Mato Grosso do Sul (Bonito)
-Minas Gerais (Mariana, Belo Horizonte...)
-Pernambuco (Recife)
-Fernando de Noronha (it is not a state, but...)
-Santa Catarina (Florianopolis)
-Rio Grande do Norte (Natal)

What can I tell you:
Just ask me. I will do my best to help you.
Even though I moved to CA 8 years ago, there are some things that never change.
Brazil has a lot to give and I would be more than happy to provide any sort of help to those travelling. My whole family and most of my friends still live there, so just pop me with a question and if I cannot help you, I would be glad to direct you towards someone who can.

As for any travellers to Brazil I can give you my point of view, as well as, any information or organizations that I believe might be useful for you.

PS. I have found out of experience and meeting americans that travelled in Rio that one of the most recent and best guide books is called "Rio for Partiers". The name might be a little bit misleading, but it seemed by far as the best and most accurate guide book for young people visiting Rio. Do not think of a book on the lines of "rio gone wild" or something, it is not. What stroke me was the amount of useful info for travellers, especially those who are young and looking for local treats and reccomendations. You know how some guides give you these 'amazing clubs'and restaurants to go to and you end up at run down terrible location where in ur mind u think "what the hell was I thinking?"? Well, this guide is pretty accurate with the best places to go to.
