Favorite places I've been:
You really can't beat India. It is far from a vacation. Everyday you go through every emotion and to its maximum. Each street corner is a destination. Backpacking Jamaica was a really difficult but also really rewarding. Morocco, particularly Essaouira, was also fantastic. The pacific North West of the States is the most beautiful place I have seen.

Places I want to go to:
I just want to go Back to India. Amritsar, Leh, Hampi, Jodhpur, Jaipur. All of it. Nepal and Tibet are also in the same category of 'will sacrafice my future to see now'category. I just feel like they are pulling me toward them. It's a lot more likely that I am just pushing myself toward them though.

I think I am about to scrap SE Asia and run for Yunan province China. I don't feel like the area has any of those power cities, like Varanasi, where you walk around and the vibration of the place replaces sights. You just walk in aww of being human. I think China has got that.

About me:
I grew up splitting time between SE Washington DC (da hood) and Little Washington VA (da boonies.) I went to a Quaker boarding school outside Philly. I have always been in more than one place. I can't seem to live in one place for more than a year and a half. And honestly I am cool with that. I grew up with photographers and have carried on the trade. I have an associates degree in photojournalism from Brooks Institute of Photography. I am also about three quarters of the way done with a bachelors in Political Science and three quarters through with another in journalism. I plan on finishing both.

Looking forward to reading more of your writing (great style btw, very honest and unapologetic) and checking out your travel photography.

p.s. "Bob Dylan is the greatest Hip-hop MC ever. " -- I've never heard that description of Dylan before, but...I agree!

Hey Brizzle...I think you are right about China. I spent 6 weeks traveling around it last Nov and loved it (except for the spitting). I'd love to return to see more of the southwest and northwest...Yunnan (what little I saw of it) was my favourite area, the people and landscape are so diverse. If you go north at all make sure you visit Jiuzhaigou Nature reserve, it's stunning.

My next trip will include India, Nepal and hopefully Tibet. As for the Pacific NW, you should have kept going north into BC! :)

I contemplated our VW. It was a sweety. Including reverse it came with five whole gears, a stylish tape deck, and a painfully apparent lack of power steering. Normally I am not one to complain. Amenities are just that. Little extras. But I had to confess that this was not the way I envisioned...

They say the worst thing that can happen to a drunk driver is they make it home safely. The logic behind this is that making it back creates a false sense of safety, or the illusion that they will always have the ability to make it. So, the drunk keeps drinking, keeps driving, keeps making it,...
