Favorite places I've been:
Cabo Matapalo, CR in a lightening storm, The Masai Mara around a bonfire, in the streets of a Quechua village playing soccer with local kids on my birthday. Oh, and at my boy Al's wedding doing the electric slide!

Places I want to go to:
Alaska, New Zealand, Nepal, Indo and Brazil. Anywhere that will force me to step out of my comfort zone and grow some soul. Oh and I would love to return to a place in Peru with wild horses and even wilder spirituality. Venga Vamos!

About me:
I'm a youth worker in San Francisco, part-time adventure travel guide and co-founder of Matador. Work hard, play hard, learn every day, and try to make a difference. I am what I eat and I eat everything except yogurt. What does that mean?

Alaska you say? Dec-Mar are best for wintertime fun or Jun-Aug for some summerlove. We Alaskans tend to leave during the melt/thaw times for a reason. Also, no trip to The Great Land should be without a stop in Girdwood & the Chugach mtns!

Aloha :D

Moonwalk - now that is something, in my minimal travel experience, I have picked up to share with others!

Thanks so much for this sight.. you guys are incredible. As someone who seeks truly meaningful travel experiences, and usually has to fight pretty hard for them to happen, this whole community is like a glass of cold water. Cheers.

Hey Ben! I'm making my way up the coast of Cali and I should be in San Fran for a few days around Monday night/Tuesday. Let me know if you'll be around and maybe we can grab a drink.

hey, first want to thank you for the work you have done on this site-- it's a tool, not a destination, and it's great. muchissimas gracias.
second, i'm curious if you have a story about becoming an adventure guide and if you've already written it or would be willing to share. thanks again.

A second to catch up…

I’m a bit behind on the blogs due to the fact that my time on the Internet has been consumed by other work. And I was taken out for a couple days with a jungle infection in my foot from jumping off a waterfall in northern Thailand. But Ross has gotten some good blogs out...
