Born and raised on Vancouver Island, I spent my childhood hiking, camping and generally travelling around Vancouver Island and the rest of British Columbia. I have hiked many trails on the island, from the West Coast Trail to Cape Scott. The island is a great place for sports enthusiasts. Some popular sports include kite surfing, disc golf, surfing, hiking, and skiing/snowboarding. The island is known for its laid-back atmosphere … free-spirited locals (hippies) and environmental activists (tree-huggers). From warm sandy beaches and snow covered mountain peaks, to coastal rainforests Vancouver Island has it all.
