Favorite places I've been:
- Montanita, Ecuador (waiting for a good set of waves by 'La Punta").
- Machu Picchu, Peru (scrambling to visit all the ruins and hikes before the day was over).
- Sulawesi, Indonesia (ping-pong on the beach, and watching local fishermen arrive with octopi on a stick and a string of red snappers).
- Pokhara, Nepal (trekking to the Annapurna Base Camp in my striped Cat-In-The-Hat hat).
- Arches National Park, Utah (waking up to the sunrise, and rolling up our tents in record time so we wouldn't get caught).
- Anchorage, Alaska (skiing the Spencer Loop or Coastal Trail by moonlight).

Places I want to go to:
Morocco, Turkey, Ireland, New Zealand, India, Indonesia

About me:
Home-grown Alaskan. My mom is Malaysian and my dad is American/Scottish. I used to be a hard-core cross-country skier back in my high school/college days, training once or twice daily between classes. Skiing was my life, but now I'm basically wandering around wherever my opportunities arise as a college educated, adventurous, and always optimistic citizen of the world.

Yeah, I hope to get my act together soon and start blogging on Matador in addition to my blogspot.

Unfortunately, I haven't had the pleasure of cycling in Ireland, although I know a lot of people do it. The only advice I can provide is that the Connemara region just north of Galway is absolutely breathtaking. Don't miss it!

I wish I was in Spain right now, but unfortunately I'm in Amherst, MA, waiting to graduate. If you don't drink beer then you could always try Irish whisky, or just head outside of Dublin. There's a lot of cool stuff outside the city. As for the teaching stuff--I don't have a TEFL degree either. There are some programs that don't require any experience, and they just train you when you get there. I'm going with WorldTeach, which is through Harvard, but there are other programs all over the world. Basically, all you'd need is a degree in something and you'll be all set. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I've been trying to think for a day or so about cool stuff to do, and I'm honestly blanking, which is embarrassing. I know while we were there we did the tour of Trinity College, which is cool. We rented a car and went into the country for a day which was awesome. Just walking around and checking stuff out is cool too though. I didn't get to another city, but if you can you should definitely try. Dublin can really be done in 2 days if you go fast. Walking by the Temple Bar area is also cool. Hope that helps.

Hey. Thanks for the Machu Picchu tips!. I'm really excited about it. Will only have 2 days in Cuzco before I start it, but hopefully I can push through. Cheers

After I got my lazy butt out of Dublin, I've seen some wonderful areas around Ireland. I traveled first to Cork (the second biggest city in Ireland), and while it's still a city it at least had some greenery and even a river flowing through it, so it wasn't grey and gloomy like Dublin.

From Cork I...

My surroundings have changed again! After my exciting (but shortened due to extraneous reasons) cycling trip, it was really time to leave Spain—honestly, my 90 passport days were nearly up. I spent about a week visiting a distant cousin in Sevilla, and moved on.

One of the few places not included...

I finally got out of Tortosa after being trapped for about two days more than necessary. I arrived on the weekend, and therefore had to wait to get the bike reparations I needed, plus all that untrained biking led to a bit of a head cold.
Two good days/nights of rest were enough to get me...
