I'm a writer and photographer, just finished up a year in Spain and back in Chicago, heading out to NYC to put down some roots and get into travel industry. I love LISBON, exploring new places, anything Spanish, and hanging with people I've just met. Looking for work now in the travel industry or the web...or both.

Travel style:

Travelling solo and with friends both have their advantages. When going alone you can easily jump into any group that passes your way. It forces you to meet people, be outgoing, make friends. On the downside, the in-between times (ie, actually moving on a plane, bus or train) can be a bit lonely. When with friends, you're all going through the same experience on the same schedule, so you really bond in a way that will keep you friends forever. But you don't meet as many people, and it's harder to wind up in totally insane places.

Hey, sounds like busy times! Great to hear you'll be back and blogging with a vengeance soon.

I just landed a two month leave, so I'm headed to the South for a March road trip, and the Eastern Caribbean in April! Totally psyched. Incidentally, when I land in Atlanta it'll be my first-ever visit to a red state. (An old man from South Carolina once said to me: "You've been to Boston, New York and California? Sweetheart, you've never been to America."

There is so much more of Guatemala that we didn't get to visit, but as far as I know, it's all pretty interesting. The one place I really wish we had gone to, is Livingstone, the only Garifuna settlement in Guatemala.

Hey!
I am definately have the travel bug ingrained in me and am really ready to head off again. Mexico didn't really cout. Cabo is totally ruined now a days, and I got stuck in a hurricane there.Im ready to had back down to South America soo!

thanks. i think i just get lucky sometimes. even an average photographer can capture great things when the subject is so beautiful.

being in china i can only view your pics as thumbnails, but they look great, especially the angles and lines of the buildings.

Well, I took a study break for eight months and traveled in a Volkswagen bus through the United States. Nashville became my base-city where I refueled because I had friends there. I made more friends, and finally decided to move here to finish my studies. Then ... I met my hubby.
The ideal world for me though is dividing my time between the US, Europe and add some exotic places into the mix. I love to take pictures of places I've been to.
I'm going to Cadiz in November - any advice on what I must go and see?

Wow Cadiz - it's a gorgeous city and you can certainly pass some nice time there, but I'd reccomend renting a car and travelling to some of the small hilltop villages close by. There's tons of them, I actually did this trip in April while living in Spain for the year, so if you want some more detailed info I can definitely let you know. The towns are quaint and artsy and charming, and the views are spectacular.
