Abster,
I've loved reading your blog. Your experiences and observations have made BA come to life for me. The night life sounds incredible - what's the average life expectancy for Argentinians?! I suppose the laid back approach to life balances the lack of sleep and late night partying.... I'm impressed with how well it seems you've kept up! I was really touched by your comments on the impoverished, begging street children - some of whom are in diapers - and the NY Times article on how paco has ravaged the neighbourhood of Ciudad Oculta. How young are the children becoming addicted to paco? The organization for street children you visited - is it funded by the government? Do you know if it is part of a child welfare system in the country, or if one exists at all?? Obviously you know that this issue is close to my heart.... Looking forward to hearing about your upcoming traveling adventures - bon voyage! Love you, your sis

Hey Abby!

In college I studied abroad in Cordoba, Argentina for 2 months...it was the best time I have ever had! From reading your blogs, I can see you are having fun too! Be sure you make it to wine country in Mendoza, their best wine is about 6-8 pesos...may be a little more now, but definitely worth it! Keep up the blogging so I have something to read and reminisce about :)

Hope youre having a great time! Im trying to head down to South America in a couple of months, and definitely plan to go to Argentina!

I actually wrote this to post on Wednesday but had some internet problems. You can pretend you're reading this earlier and I'll fill you in on the past few days in my next post- which should be soon because I'm taking lots of photos and experiencing lots of new things...

Everyday I find there are many things that I marvel at and that I question about the inner-workings of this bustling city. So I decided I should chronicle some of these mysteries…

1. The Mercado on my street. There is a store on my block that is a complete mystery. It seems just about as likely to be...

I think that the people in Buenos Aires must be accustomed to living on much less sleep than people in other places. The typical schedule here consists of:

Wake up and eat breakfast- sometime around 8am on weekdays (11am on weekends). Breakfast in my house usually consists of some combination of toast...
