Hanoi - Vietnam (Part 2)

hahaha... wanted to write something and was thinking what shld i write this time round... then i realised that i've not writen all the happenings during our 6 days in Hanoi... hahah.. tot that i'll add on to that.

hmmm... having been to a couple of the more poorer South East Asia countries i.e Cambodia & Hanoi (in North Vietnam) I feel that pple in s'pore are juz so lucky & priviledged to be living in such good conditions, being able to go to school etc.... when i was there i talked to my tour guide who brought us to Halong Bay, and he asked us 1 qstn, "How can 1 person leave a country?". My friend replied him, "you juz buy your air-tickets, packed your bags, armed with money & passport then u can leave." In fact when we heard this qstn of his, we were pretty surpirsed that someone in the tourist industy will ask us these sort of 'idiot proof' qsnt. Anyway, when he heard our ans, he was stunned.... coz to the vietnamese, its not easy for them to leave the country. In fact, majority of the Vietnamese pple do not have a passport. Which came as a surprise to us... i mean i was surprised for the moment,. however, when u think about the people there who are much poorer and living in a communist country, this does not sound as surprising anymore.

and not all vietnamese pple kno english... hmmm... in fact 1 out of 5 Vietnamese young pple you approached, understand english and u've got to speak slow in order for them to comprehend whatever that u're saying..... hahaha... so u can imagine how the 4 of us managed to find our way around Hanoi.... i'll be the one who will try to recite the simple phrases that can be found in the guidebook and the other 2 friends & my sis will try to either draw or make hand signs or make noises (if we're asking what meat we're eating) to the vietnmese.... and i can assure u 1 thing... my vietnmese... is a total floop!!! hahaha... vietnamese is super hard language... coz there are 6 intonations... worse than chinese.. and though i may pronounce the word correctly by reading the spelling.. however, is sounds wrong because of the intonations... and everytime i try to ask them, the vietnamese pple will be laughing their heads off or giving me a wide-eyed look.. hahaha... thinking abt this now.. it sounds hilarious to me!! =P but it was really fun and at the same time dustrating as hell... luckily... all 4 of us are good map readers... so we did have to ask pple for directions... else it will turn out to be a nightmare!! hahahaa... =P

so much abt the pple there... and oh oh... over there u'll get to see lots of exotic wines... hahaha.. and they can be quite a sight!!! coz these exotic wines are sort of very good for the men... YES... its to boost the men's virility. and these wines to me looked pretty fasinating but at the same time scary... hmmm having saying so much, u'll be wondering wat sort of wines these are. these wines have either Cobra snakes or gekko in them. Yup, sounds disgusting right?? but that's wat vietnamese pple believe in as in once the man drink this, he will become more 'active' in bed. but seeing the sort of animals in the wine already puts u off not to say that u're swallowing the disgusting stuffs.

anyway after our 6 days expedition in Hanoi & Halong Bay, we head back home. but we've got to make a stop at KL 1st before heading back to s'pore. Coz we purchase Air Asia tickets, so the plane will take off and arrive in KL. anyway whilst we were in KL, we also see quite a few interesting things.. think that will be another entry of mine... stay tune for more!! =D
