What I'm bringing, one month in Central America

For better or for worse, I love to make lists.  There is something strangely satisfying to create a list and then one by one, mark things complete or gotten.  My packing for this trip started early and my packing list even earlier.  After a whole bunch of research -- I'm posting my final packing list, or my final-ish packing list.

Keep in mind my priority is to go light, as in light weight.  Under 20 pounds for sure.  Holding to the addage that everything is essential, some things more than others.  The first time I packed it all up, I was at 14 pounds.  Now I am not so sure.  What I am sure of is that I leave in 12 hours.
