My plan
|
My plan is two weeks of Spanish classes in Antigua, Guatemala and then two weeks of travel from Antigua, Guatemala to my flight out of Managua, Nicaragua. I've eschewed any expectations and my preperations (for better or worse) have been fairly minimal. Now I fight the urge to make another list of what needs to be done before I leave. A friend is taking me to the airport, a nicety that makes me feel spoiled. I'm also fighting the urge to unpack into my new room. Plastic bins and bright blue Ikea bags are lining the walls. The itinerary includes most immediately, visiting Matt L in Miami, FL for the duration of my eight hour layover and then finding transport from Guatemala City Airport to Chichi tomorrow morning for the city's biweekly market day. There I will meet up with Sarah W. who will take me back to Antigua with her and I will meet my host family with whom I am to spend the week. Spanish lessons will commence Monday and there is a large festival in Antigua on Friday and my weekend is my own. Maybe something to do with volcanoes. That's as far ahead as I can imagine. One week. |
