I enjoyed your article a great deal. I´m a son of South Asian parents, and recently decided to ditch the med school path I was following for the entirety of my undergrad years for a career in music and writing. It is good to hear about other kids who are striking out in spite of parents´ expectations. Looking forward to reading more of your stuff.
