Spring Snow

Big, fat, wet snowflakes falling against a backdrop of new spring green.  Just 2 days ago it felt like July - a full day hanging out in a field, making paper mache Dr. Suess characters for my friend's annual Solstice party, drinking homebrew - I even got a sunburn.

Today snow.  I've got a fire going and my hat on, a new hat to replace the one I lost in Patagonia - this new one I found by the ski trail up in the field.

Seeing this snow come down feels strange and a little exhilarating, like anything is possible.  Anything IS possible.  I just became an Uncle for the first time, re-read David Miller's diary of his daughter's birth last night and then got the phone call from my brother, proud papa in California.

Everything happens for a reason, my Grandmother insists, and it gives me comfort to believe her.

I've just published a new article on the notebook.  How To Travel the World For Free.  If you could take a moment to give it a read, link to it, stumble it, I'd be appreciative.  I think this piece has a chance to go big and I put my heart into it.

Snow thicker now, one robin hops on the wet grass, chest fluffed out against the cold.

Here's to embracing all the magic in the world.
