Jack & Jill + Hill= Grade School Romance
| "Dating" in Grade School rocked. I put dating in quotations because it was never more than aggressive hand holding and the occasional peck in the school parking lot. It rocked because it was exquisitely simplistic. All you had to do was ask your buddy to go over to a particular girl and see if she wanted to go out with you. If she said no, you convinced yourself that you never liked the ho the first place and that she was probably a terrible hand holder. If she said yes, you had yourself a girlfriend. Everyone in school knew it. You talked on the phone (between substantial periods of silence) frequently asking if the other person was still there.. But it was great. Innocent. Truth or dare filled. And if it fizzled, you were devastated for a few days, and then back on your feet shortly thereafter and friends with that person within a matter of weeks. Where, why and when did all this stuff get complicated? Or, maybe it was complicated back then too, but we were more concerned with how many swedish fish we could stick up our noses at once without blocking airflow to vital organs.. I think that's the key- Things happen. You can't do anything about it, and it doesn't do any good to over analyze it, even if that means sticking gummies up your nose to distract you. |

StuP! Been enjoying your latest blogs. Especially the one about your grandpa. I think you're spot on with this post. ha, I really enjoyed the days of talking on the phone and frequently asking if the other person was there. Crazy that awkward turtles never existed back then. Maybe that's the problem today.
When my 3rd grade boyfriend accidentally peed on my sleeping bag while camping in our backyard, I told him I wanted a divorce the next morning. Seems like we were all a lot more forward back then, too. Maybe that's another problem.
Who knows, but only weirdos eat Swedish fish.
Absolutely! My sister actually blogged today about missing those simple childhood Sunday afternoons playing with legos, and is now contemplating going out to buy a big box of legos!
Ah god, how true it is, things change!
We tend to make everything overly complicated and difficult in life to make it seem like we are constantly making important decisions.
Why not just live life the way we did as kids, worry free and going with the flow.
