Getting ready to travel again! YAY!
|
In a month from now, I'll be leaving the states again. It's amazing how fast my time here has gone. When I came home in January, June seemed so far away that I felt it would never come. Now, I can't believe how much I have to do before I leave. This move is a lot more permanent than my last trip, much to my family's chagrin. At the end of June, I'll be heading out to Europe again. My second trip through the continent will be much, much different from the first. My first trip was just about seeing it all and, while I plan to see as much as I can this time around, this trip is also about seeing my friends. Traveling the world I met many awesome people and I want to see them. I don't know when our paths might cross again, if ever, so while I can, I want to experience Europe through the eyes of my local friends. Do what they do. See what they see. It's better than using any guidebook out there. After Europe, I'll be moving to China to teach English. I don't know how long I'll stay but it will be awhile. I'll be living in Beijing. I'm excited, I'm nervous, I'm thrilled. I'm hoping to have it all worked out before I leave too. Then it's off to southeast Asia again and beyond. I'll probably end up in Australia or New Zealand. Or maybe both. You never know with me. I like to change my plans often. I have a lot to do before I leave. I need to sort out my finances, add my parents to all my accounts so they can take care of my finances while I'm gone, get my visas, plan my route, get my flight, see my friends one last time, get rid of any stuff I have, shop for supplies (especially a new moleskin notebook), and start my Chinese classes. So soon my travel articles will be mixed with adventures from the road. Get ready. Get excited. |

Awesome, Matt! We'll all look forward to your blogs.

How exciting. Looking forward to blogs from the road!
I feel your excitement, Matt. The anticipation of travel is such a vibrant emotion. I just listed my apartment on craigslist, moving out end of July...more travels await...maybe I'll see you on the road!
Where in Europe will you be? I can't believe I will be just 15 days behind you, both of us leaving from Boston. Small, small world.
