Cape Town Backpacker (Hostel)

I spent about 4 days in Cape Town, South Africa this past May and June. I stayed at a great Backpacker, called Green Elephant Backpackers (www.hostels.co.za). It's located in a really cool part of town called Observatory, sort of a young, funky, integrated area near to the University of Cape Town, but without feeling like a purely college hangout. Thembile runs the front desk and is really good at helping you get tickets etc. for things you might want to do in C.T., as well as advising you on how to take the minibusses etc. They also have a lot of organized trips for people, although I didn't take advantage of this, and a pool, but it was not warm enough to swim. Had one incident with a weird crazy man who was staying there, but they delt with him very professionally, and hey, that's part of the fun/gamble of staying in a hostel.
