This is perfect day out: Drive out to Oakland's Lake Merrit by the Grand Theater on a Saturday morning and hit up the farmers market. Then, buy a few snacks and take a stroll, jog, or bike ride around the lake and city. Oakland rocks! and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Lake Merrit is apparently on of the first Bird preservations in America. The surrounding neighborhoods, architecture and nature is very satisfying. There is a little theater somewhere in Oakland that has a lounge-like setup with coaches and tables where you order beer and basic all-American food and watch movies. Great for a date or if you have nothing better to do.
