Oh Omaha!!

Faced with a day off in Omaha Nebraska on one of my rock band tours, I was not looking forward to it at all. I was pleasantly surpised to find that Omaha has a hip little district downtown called Old Market that had plenty of resturants and shops to keep us occupied for 24 hrs.
The best find, for me, was the Antiquariam bookshop/record store. Imagine the crazy old ladies house next door crammed to the rafters with every book you could possibly think of. I picked up an original "House at Pooh Corner" for $4. After spending a good block of time there, I headed to the cashier only to be told that I wasn't done yet and should go see the records downstairs.
Again, my mind was blown. Rows upon rows of vinyl, new and old. Not only that tons of rare 45's and ep's from indie bands through the years. I wish I could have bought some vinyl, but having to fly home in the next week with only a suitcase, it was not to be.
If you find yourself passing through Bright Eye's hometown and want to spend a few hours in literary heaven, stop by Antiquarium.
