The ocean rows us away...

Currently listening to tunes as I pack for my month long trip to Scandinavia, and stumbled onto a track by one of my favorite new bands, The Bravery.....

Flashback to 2005, I remember listening to their opening Depeche-Mode style intro to the black and white video for "An Honest Mistake" and clamouring to find out who this androgynous-looking band with the Euro-rock flair was...

Only to find out that they were New Yorkers and were rowing with The Killers at that time.

Sure, their style isn't new, but there was something about The Bravery that kept me intrigued. My curiousity was sated when I finally caught them in concerts - once in København and twice in DC.

Watching The Bravery perform live is an absolute treat. Like a man possessed and gyrating spastically to rhythms no one else can hear, frontman Sam Endicott's raw passion envelopes you through wailing vocals.
