I am a UK-based freelance travel writer trained by the London School of Journalism.  I am passionate about independent travel and have currently been to 36 different countries (if I am fortunate, I hope to visit 100 by the time I'm old and wise).  I write about anything from short city breaks to months exploring mosquito-infested rainforests.

I have had my mind has been broadened by jungles, Himalayan mountains, angry sloth bears and fermented snake wine.  My travel experiences include a round the world trip in 2000 taking in India, Nepal, South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and the USA.  I have also backpacked in Borneo, Madagascar and Morroco.  My round the world trip was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
