Cheap Bangkok Guesthouse With Free WiFi
|
When I arrived in Bangkok last week, I wanted a cheap, simple guesthouse room with free wireless internet. In the main backpacker strip around Khao San road, free wifi is almost impossible to find. After a day of searching, online and off, I found exactly what I was looking for - a 300 baht room a few blocks from Khao San with fast, free and reliable wireless internet. You're welcome. The guesthouse is called K.S. House - here's the link to their homepage. |

Hmmmmm....
I loved Bangkok. I'm passionate about the food, the music and the raw, vibrant energy.
However, what I didn't love was the "Backpacker Strip." I found the slew of hostels in that area to be contrary to why people supposedly wanted to travel in the first place. Rather than mentally and spiritually spreading themselves outwards, people just huddled even together tighter into a safe, impenetrable little herd.
I guess its true anywhere, but I guess because it just seemed so congested with travelers...like strange pods that bred cultural disattachment and "backpacker elitism."
I don't know. Are hostels the only options in Bangkok? I heard that the couchsurfing and the hospitality club was pretty active there...
Ok, now I sound like a pompous snob...but that's just my two cents on it!
300 Baht still seems pretty sweet nonetheless...
